Rutland Remembrance

Rutland is proud of being a military county, with over 20% of its population serving or having served in the military, and with stations such as North Luffenham’s Saint George’s Barracks and Cottesmore’s Kendrew Barracks. The Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Sarah Furness’s Festival of Remembrance was held in November at Rutland Hall Hotel by kind permission of Priyesh Patel of Rutland Hall Hotel, and with Col Richard Chesterfield as Master of Ceremonies. Guest speakers were
Wing Commander Nicola Jayne Duncan and Captain Lee Eastwick, whilst youngsters from Oakham School, Uppingham School, Uppingham Community College, Casterton College and Catmose
College performed a diverse programme of music. Proceeds from the event were donated to the Royal British Legion.
