A Royal Day at RAF Coningsby

Princess of Wales and Prince George Visit RAF Coningsby.

RAF Coningsby welcomed two very special visitors recently as Catherine, Princess of Wales, was joined by Prince George to mark Armed Forces Day with a visit to RAF Coningsby and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The visit was especially significant for Prince George, who was undertaking one of his most prominent public engagements to date. During their visit, the Princess and Prince George met serving personnel, learned more about the Flight’s remarkable heritage and were invited to look inside several of the heritage aircraft. Still today, RAF Coningsby remains one of Lincolnshire’s most important military bases, home to one of the Royal Air Force’s two Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) stations.
