Christmas concerts at Lincoln Cathedral 2026: G4 and a Viennese Christmas by candlelight

Few settings put you in the festive mood like Lincoln Cathedral, and two concerts in the last week of November make an early start to Christmas.

G4 Christmas, Tuesday 24th November 2026

Vocal quartet G4, who first rose to fame on ITV’s The X Factor, return to Lincoln Cathedral with their much-loved Christmas tour. More than two decades on, they remain known for combining classical voices with imaginative arrangements of popular songs.

The programme moves through traditional carols, sacred music, classical favourites and modern hits, and is set to include Silent Night, O Holy Night, Walking in the Air, When a Child is Born, All I Want for Christmas and The Twelve Days of Christmas.

Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start, and the concert is due to finish around 9.30pm. Tickets are available from g4official.com, with optional pre-show meet-and-greet packages (usually from 6pm) that include a welcome drink, photographs and signed items. G4 also perform at St Botolph’s Church, Boston (The Stump), on Friday 18th December.

Viennese Christmas Spectacular by Candlelight, Thursday 26th November 2026

Two nights later, London Concertante fills the cathedral with candlelight for a Viennese Christmas Spectacular inspired by the grand concert halls of Vienna. Expect sparkling polkas, elegant waltzes and festive favourites by Johann Strauss, Tchaikovsky and Brahms, including the Blue Danube, the Tritsch-Tratsch Polka and excerpts from The Nutcracker.

The concert begins at 7.30pm. Tickets range from £25 to £48, with VIP options, from londonconcertante.com or on 01522 561644.

Lincoln Cathedral is at Minster Yard, Lincoln LN2 1PX, at the top of Steep Hill in the Cathedral Quarter. Allow time to find parking uphill, and wrap up warmly: cathedrals can be cool on November evenings.
