The Rutland Show
The 191st Rutland County Show Returns on Sunday 1st June
Rutland’s best-loved rural celebration returns on Sunday 1st June 2025, as the Rutland County Show welcomes visitors to the Showground in Oakham for its 191st year. First established in 1831, this popular countryside event remains a highlight of the social calendar and continues to champion the region’s agricultural roots, rural crafts, and community spirit.
This year’s show promises a packed day of family-friendly entertainment, showcasing the very best of rural life. The main ring will host thrilling displays including the Bolddog FMX motorcycle stunt team, scurry driving, and the crowd-pleasing Sheep Show. Livestock and equestrian competitions will feature heavily, with British Showjumping fixtures, cattle and sheep classes, and impressive heavy horses and goats, all on display for judging.
For younger visitors, the show is a wonderland of excitement, with animal encounters, hands-on activities, and traditional funfair amusements. Elsewhere on the showground, visitors can enjoy a taste of Rutland with an abundance of local food and drink stalls, including offerings from The Grainstore Brewery, as well as artisan producers and street food vendors from across the region. Shoppers will enjoy browsing a broad selection of trade stands selling everything from handmade jewellery and fine woodcraft to homewares, garden furniture, and clothing.
This year, the show once again welcomes the return of the “For Rutland” Grand Bottle Tombola. This brilliant initiative raises funds for Citizens Advice Rutland, supporting people living with long-term health conditions. Tickets are just £1 and give participants the chance to win a bottle from a wide selection of generously donated prizes.
The Rutland County Show takes place at Rutland Showground, Oakham, LE15 7TW, with gates opening from 9.00am.
