Seventy years of the Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust, fifty years of Rutland Water Nature Reserve and thirty years of the famous Osprey Project — 2026 is a landmark year for one of Britain’s great conservation stories This summer marks a remarkable milestone for the Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust. In 2026, the organisation celebrates 70 years since its foundation, alongside two other significant anniversaries: 50 years since the creation of Rutland Water Nature Reserve and 30 years since the launch of the pioneering Rutland Osprey Project.
